PR Writing: Reformation x Planet Aid

During my senior fall semester at UF, I took a public relations writing course. Our semester-long project was to develop a theoretical CSR program between a for-profit and non-profit organization of our choice. For the for-profit, I chose sustainable fashion brand Reformation. I admire the work CEO and founder Yael Aflalo has contributed to creating a fast fashion brand that is sustainable in everything it does, while always looking for ways to do more. Embracing femininity through beautiful silhouettes, Reformation is an “It-girl” brand that is creating positive ethical change in the industry, an example for other brands to follow. For the project, I partnered Reformation with nonprofit Planet Aid, which specializes in collecting textiles to be reused and recycled, while helping underprivileged communities around the world. Here, I will highlight some of my writing samples and the campaign details I strategized for this theoretical collaboration.

CSR Media Kit

I developed a media kit for the CSR program, to be distributed to potential collaborators, publications and influencers that would be involved in the project.

Influencer Brief

I developed an influencer brief that would be sent to influencers participating in the collaboration, including campaign details and posting guidelines.

News Release

In my PR writing class, I learned how to write CSR speeches, media advisories, op/ed’s, pitches, client proposals, web stories and more. Of course, one of the most important elements of PR writing is the news release. Here is the news release I wrote to announce the collaboration between Reformation and Planet Aid.
