GatorWell Health Promotion Services

GatorWell serves students by promoting a healthy lifestyle through prevention. As a marketing assistant for two years, I rebranded GatorWell’s social media presence and increased engagement. Through creating and strategizing on-campus and social media campaigns, I’ve helped educate students on topics such as time management, sleep, fitness and healthy eating in hopes of fostering student success. As part of the GatorWell marketing team, I launched two video series: ‘GatorWell On The Go’ and ‘Gearing Up With GatorWell.’ For both of these series, I’ve served as a creative and host, asking real students questions about their health behaviors or showing them how to implement healthy habits into their lives.

I was able to collaborate with our team of amazing graphic designers to create a new look for GatorWell's Instagram. At GatorWell, graphics play an integral role in our marketing strategy, and I wanted to ensure we displayed some of our best work. I stick to a pattern alternating between photography and graphics promoting our biweekly wellness themes, events and messaging. Through this pattern, I’ve established a bright and warm aesthetic which I believe is representative of the GatorWell brand, including its fun activations on campus and friendly staff.

Video Series: GatorWell On The Go

My teammate and I developed GatorWell On The Go as a way for GatorWell to interact with students. As GatorWell On The Go’s host, I ask students questions regarding our biweekly themes and how they implement this messaging into their lives. The videos are usually very lighthearted and fun, bringing our university community closer while fostering positive health and wellness habits.

After developing GatorWell On The Go, we launched Gearin’ Up With GatorWell, a series where we demonstrate how to ‘gear up’ for a specific occasion, or learn a new health or wellness skill (we’ve taught students skills from how to properly use sexual health barrier methods to how to bullet journal). On Facebook, we often push out campaigns that follow health and wellness messaging. For our “Find Your Happy Plate” campaign, we encouraged students to try new foods that make for well-balanced meals.

Our Make It A Good Night campaign was pushed out during football season, where student drinking and partying is at an all-time high. We know that student drinking is inevitable, so our approach was to encourage them to drink responsibly if they were going to choose to drink.

We like to keep it fun, so we incorporate lively graphics during relevant periods (back to school, game days, national taco day, etc.). In this case, it was strawberry season, and we encouraged students to check out local places they could get some of these fresh, healthy snacks.

I was tasked with conceptualizing our annual open to the public Halloween party, and the theme was hit Netflix series, Stranger Things. In line with season 3, our party had a Scoops Ahoy ice cream bar, free for all students that stopped by. The office was decorated with Stranger Things themes from all seasons and was an absolute hit among staff and students.
