VS Pink Concept Design Intern
I spent summer 2019 living in NYC as a concept design intern for Victoria’s Secret Pink. Prior to this, I had never worked in a corporate environment for a fashion brand. This internship was a challenging and wonderful learning experience, where I felt thrown into the behind-the-scenes of the conceptualization process for a fashion brand, something I didn’t think I would ever be a part of. I spent my days organizing samples, prepping showrooms, creating shopping guides and trend reports, and gathering fashion inspiration from social media platforms and trend forecasting publications. For my final project, I put together a presentation for the concept design team on how social media and influencers have shaped how new trends emerge.
My favorite part of being a concept design intern was highlighted on the PINK NATION mobile app.
I was asked to speak on an intern panel at Victoria's Secret headquarters in Columbus, OH.
I shared with 250 incoming campus representatives my experience as a campus rep interning for L Brands.
Intern Project
My intern project included how trends trickle down from larger influencers to micro-influencers and Pink's own campus reps. Below is an excerpt featuring some of my favorite summer 2019 trends.
For the longest time, I have loved getting inspiration from fellow fashion-lovers, buying and styling clothes, taking pictures and posting to my Instagram for fun.
Getting to work in a creative space for a multimillion-dollar brand, organizing samples, researching emerging trends and creating trend reports was one of my biggest and proudest “pinch me” moments to date.
